On March 13, our regular chicken processor informed us they are closing their doors. This changes our processing costs. Now we have no choice but to purchase chicken crates and find affordable transportation for our birds. In addition to this, we have to use a different processor that is more expensive.

In order to cover my new upfront cost, I will require a $400 deposit to secure 10 whole chickens (Aprox 62 lbs of chicken)(about $6.25 per lbs) family being produced in the 2025 growing season.  Without deposits I will struggle to continue produce chicken this year. Customers will be credited their chickens in the months of October and November.

This news brought to light that there are very few of us left raising birds slowly and outside. Your support will allow me to continue. Thank you for helping keep us raising chicken!
